JONATHAN ANDREW MERZ & NELSON HOWARD HEISE -
Two years ago, in the middle of a protracted Stones kick, Kitten shoved my Tele in my face and told me to start playing again. So I ripped the low E off, tuned (approximately) to open G, shat out a few riffs and scribbled some lyrics.
Nelly invited me down to his 10' x 10' midlife crisis and over the course of a year and a half we, eventually, laid down ten awkwardly revealing songs. Tunes about oafishly ambling through life & death, love & hate, blah blah & yada yada, and a whole lotta nothin' else in between.
I must admit, I assumed scheduling around daycare, level 3 snow emergencies and pediatric trips to the ER would be easier than accommodating hangovers, egos and meddling mates, who knew. (Prolly why the Ramones lasted longer than the Cowsills.) Oh well.
Big ups to Nelson Heise for doing everything I couldn't, and Jolyn Gallagher for lending us her talent and credibility. It was fun. Until next time...

MUNKEY JUICE -
Munkey Juice is a rock band co-founded by Nelson and Robert Heise. They wrote and performed the first three records, Munkey Juice, The Error of Love and Early Stuff: 1995-2000. Stacie Archer played drums with them on the albums Her Absence, Sassy Potato and Mafia Cornfields. Rick Pavlik (lead guitar) and Dan Kaping (drums) joined later for the last two records, Music from the Motion Picture: Moscow and Fatty Arbuckle's Coke Bottle. The final record Live & Rare is live performances and unreleased recordings from the various formations of the band.
